CALIO

Roosevelt, Long Island, a mile and a half stretch of urban New York, has produced some of the greatest performers the world has ever seen.  From an early age it was apparent that this list would one day grow to include Lloyd Madison, known to his fans as Calio.

Calio has packed more living into his years than most men will in an entire lifetime. Born and raised in Roosevelt, he was able not just to survive in the street but also to prosper and blossom into the much-anticipated artist and personality that he is today. None of this current buzz came the easy way. Calio is no stranger to loss, losing his first friend at 13 and being constantly reminded of the dangerous nature of his surroundings by the ever-present specter of violence lurking in the shadows.

Another loss was the consistency a young man would normally become accustomed to; Calio bounced around numerous states during a particularly turbulent stretch of his formative years (including Atlanta, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia just to name a few). This theme of loss persisted as the deaths of more than 10 close friends (and the grandmother that was the singular influence on his personality) left Calio to walk alone early in life and make his own fortune. In fact, he has lived on his own since his teenage years, storing the details of his gritty upbringing for later expression through music.

Calio has an instant appeal that has made him known in rap’s most exclusive circles. This appeal is based in his world-view and the way that his outlook differentiates his music and personal style from the rest of the pack. He manages to be impulsive yet calculating, doing and saying what he means with a sort of integrity that is quite uncommon in this era of rap music. From his earliest work with (former G-Unit artist) Mazaradi Fox to the more polished current work, Calio has always taken a direct route to a success that seems pre-ordained. The music grind comes easily to Calio as he bombards the Internet with platinum caliber material directed through his G-Squad Entertainment and Dumout movements. In this rare instance, the consensus is that it is not if Calio succeeds but when.

From the top-notch product, the gang movement, the cash hustle and building a staggering yet completely credible reputation, Calio has earned his place among the most anticipated unsigned artists.  The ease with which he entertains stems from the confidence bestowed upon him by his nation of supporters, whether they are family, homey, associate or fan. Calio moves with definite intentions and defined goals, speaking to the world about those universal emotions that connect us all to each other, to the music and to Calio himself.

Welcome to the world of Calio; a ride in the fast lane on the way to untold achievement, and a long awaited sense of satisfied self-fulfillment. There are no regrets here, and no apologies. Calio’s unique perspective and take-no-prisoners mentality is the edge that rap music lost slowly over the course of its own worldwide monetization. The fans have begun to climb aboard, as the bandwagon has begun to roll. It is Calio’s time now, as in this case, a history of loss portends a future of gain.
